My neighbors the brown thrashers favor shady places. But one ventured into a sunbeam for a minute this morning.

I love the rich brown, almost red feathers of his back and the striking spots on his breast. And the long, long tail. And the way he always has a look in his eye as if he's just a little bit ticked off at something.
