Leupold Yosemite 8x30
Overall Score: 3.31 (0ut of possible 5.0)
Best of the five Porro prism binoculars in our survey, despite the fact that it was the second least expensive binocular of the lot. It has decent (3.7) optical resolution. The interpupillary distance spans 50 to 70 mm, which lets the binocular fit children's faces as well as adults'.
Pro: Good for youngsters and people with narrowly set eyes. Comfortable for small hands to hold. Good value.
Con: The focus knob has backlash and somewhat uneven resistance. The diopter adjustment is stiff. Minimum close focus is 16 feet.
NOTE: The same optical design is now found made by Kowa. It is the Kowa YF binocular. It's very comfortable. Even the focus wheel is padded.
