This Morning Outside

by Diane Porter

November 8, 2017
Evergreen Cemetery
Fairfield, Iowa

An old city cemetery with ancient trees can be a GREAT place to watch birds.

Yesterday on my ramble among tipping tombstones, I kept hearing tiny, high sounds. Like faeries conversing telepathically. High up in the boughs of the spruce trees, Golden-crowned Kinglets were tending to their business. Faery business, for sure.
