When the blackbird sings, his voice rises up from inside and puffs out his wings and tail in dance drama. His showy strut lets other males know he is the greatest. Female blackbirds watch too, choosing which male is worthy of fathering their offspring.

From the back, I think he looks like an elaborate mask from traditional Japanese theater.
