Vortex Diamondback 80mm ScopeNew in 2013
Packs small and light If ease of carrying is a criterion for your next scope, and yet you want a full-sized, 80mm objective, the Vortex Diamondback may be just what you're looking for. The Vortex Diamondback 20-60x80 spotting scope is 14.8 inches long and weighs only 47.1 ounces. Its appearance and heft are neatly compact next to other 80mm scopes by Vortex, such as the Viper HD and the Razor HD, or compared to the Alpen 788 or the Pentax PF-80ED. The Diamondback is the lowest-cost scope in the Vortex stable. It comes in angled and straight models. For most uses, we recommend the angled version. (Why?) It also comes in even lighter-weight version (33.8 ounces) with a 60mm objective lens. A good case for the Diamondback We especially like the well-designed case, which comes with the scope at no extra cost. It is a view-through case that can stay on while you're looking the scope. Unlike stay-on cases designed for many scopes, this one is generous enough to make it easy to slip the scope in and out. Two rings let you attach the included strap for easy carrying. And these rings are big enough that a person could manipulate them even while wearing gloves. Specifications:
Weatherproofing The Vortex Diamondback is waterproof. Optics are sealed with O-rings to prevent moisture, dust, and debris from getting inside the spotting scope. For more details See the product manual. Included with the scope
