The
Equinox
Waterproof Roof-prism
from Audubon
by
Michael and Diane Porter

We
reviewed this binocular in the summer of 2004 as part of a Binocular
Roundup for the November, 2004, issue of Birdwatcher's Digest.
The
National Audubon Society has come out with its own line of binoculars.
The focus seems to be on providing a decent binocular at a very
decent price.
The
top-of-the-line Equinox is a nice roof-prism binocular. It's the
least expensive waterproof, fogproof, nitrogen-purged binocular
we saw in the entire survey.
The
Equinox features twist-and-lock eyecups. It has good eye relief
of 16mm in the 8x42 and an excellent 19.5mm in the 10x42. Focusing
as close as 5 feet, the Equinox would serve well for butterfly
watching. It's a good starter binocular. It's available in 8x42
and 10x42.
The Equinox comes in 8x42 and 10x42.
