Eagle Optics RangerWe rated the Eagle Optics Ranger SRT a best buy. The 8x42 has a street price of $299.95. It has excellent eye relief (19.5mm) for glasses wearers, very close focus (5.2 ft.), and twist-up eyecups with good detents.

The binocular feels good in the hand. And we found its focus knob flawlessly smooth and free from slack.

For our survey, we looked at the 8x42 model. The Eagle Optics Ranger also comes in 10x42, 10x50, 6x32, and 8x32.
