This Morning Outside

All winter long, the Downy Woodpeckers have been amiable. Often I've seen five or six getting along like old friends.

But this morning, on the first day of spring, the birds are itching to establish their own territories. Here are two Downies having a big discussion about which one is going to be king of the dawn.
