This Morning Outside

The bluebirds have five babies almost ready to leave their nest. To feed them, both parents hunt insects dawn to dusk for the chirping little bluebirds inside the nest hole.

To help out, several times a day, I offer mealworms. Whenever I go outside, the bluebirds find me. If I've come out empty handed, one look from the father is enough to send me back to the fridge to get more mealworms. He knows I'll deliver.

He waits.
