This Morning Outsideby Diane PorterJan. 6, 2015 The dark-eyed junco's white belly makes him seem to float over the snow. You can make out part of an orangey leg, which reveals that most of his mass is just fluff. The junco's body is much smaller than the outline you see, smaller even than the shape of his darker feathers. He's a wisp, hardly more than an idea of a bird.
