This Morning Outsideby Diane PorterDecember 16, 2013 I love blue eastern birdbirds. I love the way they lay claim to my birdhouses in early spring and guard them until it's time to start nesting. I love watching them raise their families through the summer, partly by feeding them the little green caterpillars who would otherwise decimate my kale. But the bluebirds I most adore are those few who remain and flourish in frozen Iowa woods during the coldest months of the year. One such illuminated my soul today.
