That little goose at front left is different from the others. The big ones are Canada geese. The daintier bird is a cackling goose.

Cackling Goose

For most of my life, bird people called them all Canada geese. However, since 2004 they have been recognized as their own species. Canadas and cacklings thrive on the winter banks of the Des Moines River, in southeast Iowa.
