The cast of the winter play is on stage now. Among the bittiest of bit players, pine siskins lisp their lines as they visit the niger feeder with American goldfinches.

They're almost the same size and shape as goldfinches, but the pine siskins have stripes. And lest we confuse them house finches, there's that bit of yellow on the wings and tail.
