This Morning Outside

The season has turned a subtle corner. Even though it's still hot, the leaves are beginning to turn, and the days sound different now. Lots of cricket sounds. Not much bird song any more.

But the woods still crackle with the chick-a-dee-dee-dee calls of black-capped chickadees. Such a cheerful sound!
