This Morning Outside

The silent morning air jangles now with the ringing cries of blue jays, and there's a great flutter of wings through the trees. It takes me a few moments to spot the young red-shouldered hawk who has landed on a tall snag. The hawk scrutinizes the ground and brush. Hunting for breakfast. The blue jays don't like it one bit!
