That sun feels so good! Friend house wren turns its back toward the sun and fluffs up the feathers to let the rays penetrate to the skin. Look at the bird's open mouth. That is pure pleasure.

After the sunbath, the wren bathes some more in the soft loose dirt at the base of the tree. Both kinds of bath probably help get rid of any small passengers that are thinking of making a home among the feathers.
