This Morning Outside

Wheep? Wheep? he cries loudly. You'd think it would be easy to see the great crested flycatcher, who is bigger than most flycatchers, and who has such a piercing call and such a beautitful lemon-custard belly. But most of the time it stays hidden in the treetops.

This morning I felt lucky when one dropped down into my garden to look me over.
