Woodcock Pipes Up 

American Woodcocks are BAA-ack, in Iowa. I've been listening every morning, waiting. Today I was rewarded.

If you live near a grassy field with woods adjacent, go outside at dawn. Drink in the light rounding upward from the east. Listen for a buzzy peent, followed by twittering from the sky, like the pipes of heaven. You will find happiness.
