This morning it was cooler, in the low forties, and my feeders were hopping with business again. Here a red-bellied woodpecker dives down for the suet feeder under the eaves.
There's a special feeder for woodpeckers that is really nice looking. It's the Suet Upside Down Feeder. Woodpeckers are fine with feeding from below, but starlings can't manage it.
It lets the little birds in and keeps the squirrels and starlings out.
