36 inch Spiral
Goldfinch Feeder
Lots of birds can feed at once from this looong looong Yellow Spiral 36" feeder. Click the picture to see a short movie of goldfinches visiting the feeder.
Cardinal Feeder
It's called the No-No Cardinal Feeder, because it says NO to squirrels, who can't get at the seeds through the all-metal feeder.
But it says YES to cardinals, both by its red color and also by the design, which is easy for cardinals to land on and use.
Cardinals don't like some feeders, because they don't like to feed with their necks turned sideways. They like a feeder that lets them land and eat straight ahead. Try the Non-No Cardinal Feeder, and see how many cardinals you attract!
DVDs about hummingbirds
First Flight is a wonderful new DVD lets you watch all the details of a hummingbird nesting. Get to know the mother hummer as an individual.
Hummingbirds of North America will teach you to identify every hummingbird of North America—males, females, and immatures. For the serious student of hummingbirds. Great movies and information.
See and hear the most beautiful birds in the world. This DVD has a singing male of every all 39 species of wood warblers found in Eastern North America.
A beautiful experience for the eyes and the ears.
Diane's comment: Hearing the songs while watching the birds close up really helped to impress them on my memory.
Tempt orioles in close with their own feeder, and stock it with grape jelly.
We had tried grape jelly before without much success. Then we got the Oriole Grape Jelly Cafe and filled the red cup with Birdberry Jelly, and we had orioles the same day!
Oriole Grape Jelly Cafe
This feeder stays nice, doesn't warp or crack, is completely washable, and is made from plastic bottles that otherwise might have been added to the landfill.
It's nice to feel like you're doing the environment a favor, and at the same time attract orioles.
