This Morning Outside

I almost didn't see this Red-eyed Vireo in the shady woods this morning. Finished with nesting, it quietly slips through our lives, often unnoticed.

In summer it sings all day long. But now it's finished with nesting. It no longer has a territory to defend, and there is no potential mate to impress. Singing stops. Migration is on. Gotta get to Central America before winter!
