This Morning Outside

A few robins spend the entire winter in icy Iowa. We don't see them much, because they spend their days skulking in the woods, subsisting on wild fruits and berries.

When one shows in the backyard in late winter, it's not really the first robin of spring, but it may be the first one out of the woods.

Like this handsome fellow with whom I exchanged a glance this morning. I'm taking it as a sign of spring!
