This Morning Outside

by Diane Porter

May 18, 2010
At Birdwatching Dot Com
Fairfield, Iowa

For a little while longer we'll have these dapper White-crowned Sparrows with us, with their neat, sharp face patterns. They're on their way north to nest. We enjoy them in Iowa every day that they stay with us.

Good luck to you, pretty birds.

The peony, by the way, is named Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt. She has graced my gardens for about 30 years.
