This Morning Outside

by Diane Porter

Almost eclipsed by the throng American goldfinches this morning was one pine siskin. Same size and shape as the goldfinches, but striped on the front. Sharp beaked and sharp eyed. My first pine siskin of the season. Welcome home to Iowa!
